Clinical Supervision and Professional Consultation
Having been in practice since 2014 and having received my Licensed Professional Counselor status in early 2017 in Colorado (LPC 17361), I am excited to be offering both clinical supervision and professional consultation services in East Boulder County. Additionally, I have completed all three Approved Clinical Supervisor trainings at Noeticus Counseling Center and Training Institute, and I am working towards earning certification as an Approved Clinical Supervisor through the Center for Credentialing and Education (CCE).
As a graduate of Naropa University's Somatic Counseling Psychology program (now the Somatic Counseling concentration of the Clinical Mental Health Counseling program), a Certified EMDR therapist, and a highly trained Brainspotting therapist, I offer professional support to those who wish to offer an additional depth of processing or an alternative to traditional talk therapies to their clients.
As someone who chose to go directly into private practice after finishing graduate school, I set out to create a clinical supervision experience that truly supports new counselors who not only want to continue to develop their skills as counselors as they earn their hours for LPC, but who also want to learn to build a successful and sustainable business.
While traditional models of supervision in private practice focus primarily on clinical skill and case conceptualization while solely utilizing self-report, I offer a cohort model that includes individual and group supervision that utilizes not only self-report but also video session review as well as practice demonstrations and role plays with myself and your other cohort members. Additionally, one of the most common complaints about private practice is that is can be a lonely and isolating. As a part of a cohort, you will receive support not only from me as your supervisor but also from your peers. Together, we will focus on all aspects of being in private practice, including:
Clinical Skills and Case Consultation
Marketing and Networking
Client Attainment and Retention
My approach to supervision is founded on a developmental perspective. I will take the time to work with you to enhance your strengths, identify and improve on blind spots, and generally meet you where you are in order to help you get where you want to be, both as a clinician and as a business owner.
In addition to clinical supervision, I also provide consultation to post-licensure clinicians as well as pre-licensed clinicians who are already working with another supervisor. I consult with clinicians who want to develop a deeper understanding of and skill in working with PTSD and Complex PTSD. Consultation can include whatever will best fit your desired goals, from self-report case consultation to video review to demonstration sessions to practice specific intervention skills.
I am certified in EMDR by the EMDR International Association (EMDRIA), and I am also an approved Consultant-in-Training with EMDRIA, which means I can provide 15 of the 20 hours required by EMRIA for certification. I work with Arielle Schwartz, PhD, to provide the remaining five hours. Arielle is a well-respected EMDR Consultant who has written books on Complex PTSD as well as Somatic Psychology and EMDR, and she also offers advanced trainings in EMDR with the Maiberger Institute.
I am also highly trained in Brainspotting (BSP), having completed the first three phases of BSP training. However, while I can support your skill in BSP, I cannot offer hours towards certification at this time.
